Community Summer Send-Off
Back to School Bash with the Carver Community
August 16, 2025
When we put out the call to gather backpacks and school supplies for the Carver neighborhood children, we trusted that the Lord would provide. And He did, abundantly! A generous donor gave a huge supply of school materials, and with the help of volunteers we were able to pack over 50 clear backpacks filled with everything a student needs to start the school year strong. To make the day even more special, one of our partner churches donated hamburgers and hotdogs for a community cookout.
The night before the event, our team gathered together to pack the bags and pray over each one. It was a powerful moment, believing that these backpacks would carry more than pencils and paper, but the love of Christ and the reminder that God sees and cares for every child and family in this community.
We were not alone in this work. Midtown Vineyard Church, the same church we recently volunteered with at All Nations Cafe, reached out and asked to partner with us again. They brought a team of volunteers who served right alongside us, helping to meet needs and spread the love of Christ. It was another beautiful example of how God bridges gaps and brings His people together.
When the day of the Back to School Bash arrived, the community showed up in full. Around 100 people came out to celebrate, receive supplies, and enjoy fellowship. Families gathered together, children laughed and played, faces were painted, food was shared, and prayers were lifted high. The atmosphere was one of joy, unity, and hope as neighbors came together as one body.
God brought His people from near and far to meet real needs and demonstrate His love in action.
By the end of the day, every backpack had been given away, so many that we actually ran out. Next time, we will be ready with even more. Still, every family left encouraged, every child left smiling, and God truly got the glory for it all.
